April English is a graduate from Texas Tech University and is a co-founder and owner of English Insurance Group. After graduating in 2002, April was consistently a top performer in medical/surgical sales for 10 years before opening her business with her husband, Chris English in early 2009.
April had a passion while in college to begin her career in the medical industry. Her 10 years in medical sales included being an orthopedic trauma representative in the operating room, selling capital equipment and working in hospice. These roles involved educating physicians, nurses and social workers through product presentations/demonstrations, negotiating contracts and closing a sale. With hard work and dedication, April received achievement awards for exceeding sales objectives and was a Presidents Club member.
With a lot of prayer and faith in God, April changed her career path from the medical industry to property and casualty insurance. God placed a desire on her and her husband’s heart to begin a business together. This transition allowed her the opportunity to work and focus more on their family. She is a proud mom of her 5 year old son, Brady and her 3 year old daughter, Landry. April enjoys fitness and scuba diving when she can get away from the everyday demands of life for a working mother.
Volunteering and being part of community organizations is where April thrives. She is an Alpha Chi Omega Alumni, she sits on the board for Aspasians, Chamber Partnership committee member and serves as a Chamber Ambassador, is a Leadership Rockwall Alumni from the class of 2015, involved in the Reinhart Elementary PTA and she is the social chair for her Life Group at Lake Pointe Church.
April’s company, English Insurance Group was awarded by the Chamber of Commerce for “Emerging Business of the Year” for 2014 and “Small Business of the Year” for 2015. They also received the “Make More Happen” award for their volunteerism in the community for 2015.
April’s accomplishments and drive for success are a result of the relationships she has built and she is very excited to share her energy with other women in her community.
