Leslie Wilson has been the Marketing Director of Rockwall Urgent Care since the clinic opened in 2010. She particularly enjoys promoting the new Occupational Medicine Department to local entities. Leslie also handles community outreach and is highly visible through the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce and as a member of the Royse City Chamber Board of Directors. Since 2014, when the clinic started a philanthropic emphasis, in which they donate time and/or resources to a different, local non-profit each month, Leslie has had the opportunity to work with stellar folks at Helping Hands, Meals on Wheels, Children's Advocacy Center, Team Promise Makers, Boys & Girls Club, Women in Need and many more.
She is passionate about sharing the story of her 2004 stroke and working on causes related to heart health, including Rockwall HeartChase. Leslie, and her husband, Bret, served as the administrators for Team Promise Makers (and Girlz-4-God) from 2009-2011. In 2001, she founded the Rockwall Christian Writers Group, which she continues to co-lead.
After graduating with her Bachelor of Arts in English from Colorado State University, Leslie became certified as a paralegal and worked in that field for several years. She was blessed to be able to stay at home with her children until they reached school age. At that time, she began a professional writing, speaking and editing career, which she continues to do part-time.
In 1992, the Wilson’s moved to Rockwall where they have enjoyed raising their three children: Charlie who's entering his final year of medical school at UT-Houston; Molly, a junior at Dallas Baptist University; and Reese, a sophomore at Vanderbilt University. Bret, owner of Wilson Investment Services, and Leslie, who've been married 27 years, are getting the hang of the empty nest thing-they enjoy antiquing and junkin', visiting their kids, and hanging out with their family, particularly on the ski slopes.
