“Christian, Coffee-Drinker, Reading addict, Mom and Speaker….Determined Dreamer, PollyAnna, sugar-coated idealist, but I like to think of myself as more optimistic than that”
Melody started her career with Helping Hands over 7 years ago as Development Director. She brought to the agency her love of serving locally with over 20 years of experience in non-profit organizations. She has served as Officer/Director on boards, chaired fundraising events, and held officer positions in multiple organizations including Rockwall Women’s League, AMICA Women’s Club, Rockwall Preschool Association, Special Events Board for the City of Heath and was an Event Planner for Auction & Event Solutions.
Melody previously enjoyed eleven years in the corporate sector with Fidelity Investments entering first as a stockbroker and then moving into international training and ultimately on to a position as a senior project manager of system implementations.
A passion for event planning combined with a history of non-profit groups and experiences with corporate technology fit well with the Development Director role for Rockwall County Helping Hands.
On a personal note Melody is active in the community as an active member of Lakepointe Church, volunteering on political campaigns and as chauffeur to her children’s extracurricular activities around town. Her current project is capturing the tales of her childhood neighborhood and travels with her Missionary Grandmother. She has lived in Rockwall County for 22 years, been married to Chris Hail for 23 years and they have 3 children that fuel their life. Parker is a Select Soccer player and Senior at RHHS. Sydney is an 8th Grade Cheerleader, Robotics fanatic & theater buff at Cain Middle School and Garrett is a 6th grade Select Soccer player, sports addict & songbird at Amy Parks. You can find them on the weekends at the soccer fields or at Robotics competitions….and they wouldn’t have it any other way.
